Pink Alert!

When I started writing this post, it was because I saw these early (for this area) cherry blossoms in Branch Brook Park.

Early cherry blossoms

But then I noticed the MagKnits site has been taken down, with only a terse letter of farewell on the homepage, and many designers have been scrambling to reformat their patterns as pdfs and upload them to Ravelry or their own sites.

Huh?

I noticed that Magknits was "temporarily down" the other day and wondered what was up.

I'm jealous of your cherry blossoms. Our neighbor has a tree that's the view from our kitchen sink. I love washing dishes in the spring. But so far, nothing.

Only what two weeks til Cherry Blossom Fest?
I'm waiting for the apple tree in front to bloom myself.

I'm not even going to get into the Magknits cauldron. Lets just say I'm disappointed in the mob mentality out there.

We were just talking about Branch Brook Park the other night--I think the last time I was there, I was about 13! (I know for a fact that we went with Muppy, our first dog, because we have a picture of her and me in a tree--and she died when I was 16.) Pity it's supposed to rain on Saturday....

And, yeah, Magknits. Sheesh.

Hooray for the pinking! Spring is real! It's not a cruel hoax. I'm sorry to see Magknits go. There is much chatter in the Ravelry forums about the closing of Magknits and links to further details as well as a letter from the Magknits lady about the closing.

Thanks for the Pink Alert - this will delight DH who is planning a stereo photography expedition to Branch Brook Park this weekend.

Magknits has been frustrating me for awhile - I don't think they posted anything in February. Wonder what happened to them - I should have saved more of their files I really liked to my Ravelry queue.

Such pretty trees! Ours have not bloomed yet so your photo is a welcome sight.

This is the first I've heard about Magknits, and wonder what's going on. Guess I should head over to Ravelry.

Your neck of the woods is at least three weeks to a month ahead of us in the spring. I was in NY this week and loved seeing the cherry blossoms and magnolias.

Those cherry blossoms are gorgeous. And such a lovely reminder that spring does happen.
