I must have missed the memo while I was away. Were I an organized blogger, I would have posted this post this morning. Given that it's evening, QED. Apparently TdF spinners were supposed to state goals and post pix of their first day's work.
My goal for the duration is to turn this excellent Yarnaboard! prize from Lisa, Crown Mountain Farms Sock Hop roving, colorway Blue Suede Shoes...
... into sock yarn sufficient for one pair of socks. Here's today's progress.
Sock Hop is lovely to spin – it flows smoothly onto the spindle almost without pre-drafting. There's 8 oz (227 g) of it, putatively enough for several pair, so I'll stop around 400 yds (365 m) plied. Allez!

Looks great so far!
I was really tempted to do TdF but I'm still in physical therapy so I can't spin daily just yet. I'll spin along on the days I can and just be a cheering section. Love your fiber choice. I'm a big CMF fan. BTW, if you take a picture of those socks and send it in they'll give you a $20 gift certificate. I found that out when I sent in a photo just thinking they needed some new stuff for their gallery.
Oh yeah, you're gonna need more fleece. That stuff spins up so fast!
I'm on the fence about using the CMF pencil roving I just spun for socks though, it was getting quite fuzzy just after plying.
Very pretty so far. I love CMF rovings. I guess I should get back to work on the batch I have going.
