New Year, Old Swatch

Happy New Year! Two days into 2008 and I have a miserable cold again, this time with a superabundance of phlegm (I'll spare gentle readers visual or sound effects). Since I can't have New Year's mochi (choke), here's some knitted dingleberries grapes. I'm told grapes are New Year's good luck food in Spain.

Happy New Year!

I hasten to add this is an old swatch. Although I have been thinking about intarsia projects.

Yesterday Georgia dominated Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl to win 41-10. Play was so mismatched, it was kinda sad to watch.University of Hawaii But the Hawaii team played with great heart and their loyal fans in the Superdome or watching on TV stayed for every second (except for those affected by a half-hour cable outage that blacked out parts of Oahu, Kauai, Maui, and the Big Island – SHRIEK!!!). Personally, I still want the hot souvenir from NOLA, green Hawaii Mardi Gras beads.

Margene and Carole haveNaSpiMoMo button declared January is NaSpiMoMo, National Spin More Month, on Ravelry. Seems like a good idea. I'll spin along with my trusty spindle and a lovely Barneswallow Farm Lincoln cross batt in cappuccino (one side light coffee, the other café au lait).

Although what would really be handy this time of year is an Exit 151 version of the Boston French Toast Alert System (operational version on Carole's sidebar), which gives winter storm advisories so that one can drop everything and rush like a maniac to the supermarket to stock up on mass quantitites of milk, bread, and eggs (= French toast fixins).

Crawling back into bed.

I'm sorry you're sick! Maybe it will give your more spinning time, though. Feel better soon.

Lord I hope we get some French Toast Weather!

I heard in Spain they only eat 12 grapes on New Years. If say your 5th grape is sour, you're going to have a crummy May, etc.

There is something going around. I had it last week. Lovely grapes! No one would ever mistake them for dingleberries.

Ginger Tea with Honey always makes me feel good. Anytime I have a cold I go with spicy food to help clear up the congestion.

Happy New Year! I hope you're well on your way to recovery at this point. Gotta love those Barneswallow batts. I think I still have one in the stash somewhere....
