A Taxing Day

Early this morning, a nice policeman went door to door to advise everyone on my street that there would be no car traffic today. Shortly thereafter, a contraption started cutting the road. Here it is at the end of my driveway.



This was followed by digging.



And yet more digging.



Then they all went away for a while, and the sun went behind a cloud. The more diffuse light makes it easier to see my crabapple tree is blooming.
