Santa Surprises

Santa made two deliveries today at Casa Jersey Knitter and let me say that the excitement over le beaujolais nouveau est arrivé has got nothing on the big man in red.

First up, this nostalgic pony bead Santa and kit, a fun surprise from Lisa. I'd admired her daughter's Santa a couple weeks ago – now, lo and behold, I not only have one of my own, I can make one, too. Thank you, Lisa! (No one knows about my secret love of pony beads.)

Also,Ravelry Yarn Exchange button my Ravelry Secret Santa package arrived from blogless Máirín in Ireland: Colinette Jitterbug, a sweet card and Santa, Vichy lotion, and a candy cane. Thank you, Máirín! In case you didn't know, Jitterbug is highly prized in the U.S. – I suspect a fair number of knitters can identify the colorway* at a glance.

This was my first Ravelry exchange. I didn't much care for the third-party swap engine that was used, but the Ravelry forum added a terrific dimension to the swap. Thanks to Patita and Flourish for organizing and especially for their swift resolution of glitches.

*It's 72, Tapis.

Nice presents! I'm betting that Kim knew that colorway for sure :)

Hooray for great packages in December! Nice haul of stuff too. I've never played "Name that Colorway" Jitterbug from a photo before, but my guess is Fuchsia. If I saw it in person, I'd know for sure. I love playing "Name that Colorway!"
