Show of Hands

Tomorrow is General Election Day in the U.S. and I'm grappling with indecision. I don't mean about voting – those who have the right to vote should exercise it. (Click to find your polling place.) In NJ, the polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. – be sure to vote on Question 1, which amends the state constitution.

Green ombre mittens

My quandary is of the fibery sort: although I regularly wear fraternal twin mitts and socks, I'm hesitant to add this child's pair to a charity Mitten Tree. I may like esthetic asymmetry, but I worry about how mismatched mittens would make the recipient feel. Gentle readers, What say you?

I agree with your sensitivity. Do you have any leftover yarn? Maybe you can make a set of pompoms to tie the set together...just a thought. ~ksp

I agree with Kelli. If they were MY mittens I'd wear them, but as a gift...I think it's back to the pond they go. I really like them though!!

I'm going to go with Kelli as well. I too wear the fraternal twins socks, but that's me. I haven't gifted frats yet. but when I do, wouldn't be socks or mitts either. anyone want a slightly used set of fraternal twins? :)

But then again, there's always that child in the crowd who dares to be different, wears stripes and florals together, heck two different florals together. That free spirit might just like the differentness of the mismatched pair.

I vote gift. I'd rather have warm hands and someone who thinks of me than cold hands!

I voted. But I miss my old polling place. We move .2 miles and have to switch--boo!
