it's the yarn equivalent of a hair shirt. Also makes me think of those religious fanatics during the black plague who would whip themselves & drag heavy crosses around. This would be their yarn choice. Oh the suffering!
Surely the church can forgive you for saying fugly, especially if you're knitting for charity.
